Description: Immigrants often overwork to make a living for themselves from the ground up. Using hydrangea as a stand-in for the livelihood of living things, the artificial heavy coat of gold paint can't mask the decaying nature of the flowers as they slowly die. When the artificial appearance is gone, the flesh is brutally revealed leaving the artificial to be no longer important. Materialist things can't make up for health and livelihood.
